Designed for Critical Listening and Effortless Dialogue
mutsemdrer was engineered to give podcasters, interviewers, and independent creators in Toronto a quiet, acoustically reliable workspace with broadcast-standard equipment.
The Studio Philosophy
High-caliber podcasting requires two elements that domestic spaces and conventional coworking offices cannot provide: acoustic dampening that eliminates flutter echoes, and a signal chain calibrated for dynamic voice capture without digital distortion.
At mutsemdrer, our recording room incorporates a floating subfloor, dense decoupled drywall layers, custom bass traps in all corners, and strategic acoustic diffusion panels. The result is a measured RT60 decay time of 0.22 seconds—dry enough for surgical post-production, yet natural enough to prevent vocal fatigue during 2-hour longform discussions.
Signal Chain & Equipment Standards
We run an uncompromised hardware workflow. Vocal capture utilizes Shure SM7B dynamic microphones mounted on articulated silent boom arms, routed through Cloudlifter CL-1 preamplifiers into studio-grade converters. Audio monitoring is handled through high-isolation Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones for every seat.
For video creators, the space features calibrated 5600K high-CRI soft panel lighting that illuminates faces evenly without harsh reflections or eye strain. Three Sony FX cinema bodies capture synchronized 4K video feeds with fixed prime lenses.
Your Intellectual Property Remains 100% Yours
We are an independent technical studio facility, not a publishing label or network. We retain zero claim or license over your guest interviews, media stems, or distribution revenue. You record, we hand over the raw masters, and the show belongs entirely to you.
